Sundance Film Festival | One Minute Portrait Series

Taken on location in Park City during every Sundance Film Festival since 2011. These portraits are fun and interesting to make, but have been a challenge because of the intense media schedules maintained by the filmmakers and casts. Recent subject Spike Lee was curious about my camera and the process of making these portraits. He asked for a print and wrote his address on the back of a sheet of paper. A couple days later as I was addressing the package with the photograph to him, I flipped over the paper and it was his media schedule. Over 10 days around Sundance, there were appointments with 89 different media outlets. Time is a valuable commodity for the stars of Sundance, and they don’t have much of it. That’s why this is called the Sundance One Minute Portrait Series.
